Downtown Round Rock's Hometown Holiday

As the sun sets for nighttime, casting a bright, orange hue on the Texas sky, downtown Round Rock awakens as the warm white Christmas lights illuminate the downtown blocks. Now, it is a Christmas Light wonderland for you and your family to explore!

Since 2016, the city of Round Rock has hosted Hometown Holiday. With this year being Round Rock's best Hometown Holiday yet, consisting of live music, sweet treats, local art, and even more Christmas lights, you can finally star in your always dreamt of Hallmark movie -- of course, without the snow.

Upon stepping into Downtown Round Rock, you will be immediately gazing at the dazzling lights that bring life to the trees, light posts, and local businesses. Every area of downtown Round Rock has installations such as archways and a giant present to enjoy. Perhaps stop by the sugar art display and snack on sweets from Capital Confectioners. At the same time, adventure to the Sharon Prete Main Street Plaza, gazing at the Christmas Tree and ornament installation with the sound of live music filling the cold air.

Hometown Holiday features excellent musicians on certain days, so here are some of the dates to keep an eye out for:

  • Live music in the parklets every week of December from Tuesday-Saturday
  • Music on Main every Wednesday from December 1st - 22nd from 7 pm - 9 pm.
  • Live music from Guy Forsyth on Dec. 15th
  • Live music from the Los Texmaniacs Feliz Navidad Show on Dec. 22nd.

And as you wrap up your night, be sure to stop by the Gift Shop and Downtowner Gallery so that you can help local artists during the Christmas season! The gallery will have one-of-a-kind Original Art, reproductions of local artists' original artwork, handmade ornaments, jewelry, pottery, and art quilts.

Make a night of it, enjoy the live music, have a beer, savor some treats, and bask under the glow of twinkling lights!
